ACHIEVEMENTS OF GOVT. SAIHA COLLEGE

1. The Govt. Saiha College was established on 20.07.1978. Govt. of Mizoram has upgraded this College to the deficit status from 1985 and provincialised wef. 31.1.1992.

2. The total enrolment during the last 26 years as follows:-

PU (Arts) - 3280-upto 1996 only.

PU (Science) - 310-upto 1996 only.

BA - 1287.

B.Sc - 45.

3. Students who had successfully completed their studies under this college are as follows:-

PU(Arts) - 1139

PU(Science) - 65

BA - 426

B.Sc - 2

4. All the subjects except B.Sc course were having Honours courses since 1996 onwards.

6. Some students who have completed their studies under this College have hold important posts like MCS, MPS, MBBS, BVSC, B.Sc(Agri), B.Sc(Hort) Lecturers, Teachers in MES, HSS and public leaders in the District Council and State Government.

7. The college has degree classes only since 1998-99 on account of the shifting of PUC classes to Higher Secondary School .

8. The college has one bus and on Gypsy.

9. The college has 9 staff quarters, One Dormitory, One boy's Hostel in the campus.

10. IGNOU Study Centre is opened in the Academic Session of 2005-2006. 29 students were admitted into Bachelor Preparatory Programme. (BPP)

11. Computer's Learning Centre for DCA Course is also started with the help of UGC from 2006-07 session.

12. RCC building is excepted during 10 th plain period

13. Govt. Saiha College had been registered under section 2(f) of UGC on 29.03.1996

14. The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit was started since 1985 and Programme officers have actively and successfully performed their duties the past 20 years and have achieved many remarkable targets for the people in the district.
